When my mother passed away on 9th September, 2017, I was in a highly disassociated state mentally. It was during this emotionally exhausting phase that a song to commemorate my mother, 'Ammi', came alive in my heart. However my mother had always been a strong woman, a strong figure, who had actually influenced me more than my father (perhaps because I had spent more time with her than my father as a child due to their different work commitments). The fighting spirit, the competitive streak, the ability to never give up, and more; I get all these traits from her. So I decided that this song, in spite of my own personal suffering, will have to commemorate mothers in a positive way. 'Ammi' is my favorite track from the album. This album also marks the debut of my younger brother 'Gaganpreet Singh Rai' as a singer. You are going to see (and above all, hear) more of him in my future works.
